System 3
The third system is the aerobic system is opposite to the other two systems because this system required oxygen. The oxygen breaks down the glucose or fat and produce energy for the recreation of the ATP. This system is used for lower intensity activities for example 1500 hundred-meter run.
Waste products are produced from the aerobic system this is the carbon dioxide, water and heat. So we sweat to reduces heat and is dissipated from the body and we breathe heavily to get out the carbon dioxide. This system can produce energy by breaking down glucose, which are carbohydrates and fats. Fats are better store of energy for ATP but can only be used for low intensity exercise since it takes longer to convert the energy when running a marathon you should eat a lot of carbohydrates which is carbo-loading a week before, during the race you feel better and are able to last longer. This will increase the glycogen stores in your muscles. This system does provide the best supply of oxygen since if one molecule of glycogen is broken down acerbically it will provide 38 ATP while once molecule of fat will provide 128 ATP |
