Introduction
As a sports college I feel that it is important for all students athletes to have a good understanding of how their body's work so they are able to look after themselves and improve in their chose sport. As being an athlete I would also like to know more about the human body and all the systems that work together that allow us to take part in a wide range of sport and exercise activities. I have been asked by the Head of PE department, Mr Sexton to produce a website to describe and explain how each of the body's systems work. I will be specifically be looking at the Energy System, which shows how we generate enough energy to produce movement and complete sporting activities. My body automatically switches between different energy systems depending on the demand I put it under.
Everyone's body needs a steady supply of energy to enable us to help perform the desired function to be able to stay alive. There are different food types that give us different amount of energy. Breads, pasta and rice are carbohydrates, which are what we use first then move onto fats, there are two types of fats that are good fats like avocado, and nuts bad fats are cakes and sugars. Finally in extreme conditions we use proteins, which are meats. These types of food enable us to perform muscular contractions, movements, and circulations to pump the blood around the body, digestion of food, repairing and reproducing tissue.
There are four topics I will be talking to you about which is the ATP system, lactic acid system, aerobic system and recovery time of each system.
